Description
This is my spare 5HP24A transmission that was removed from my parts car. The car was a 2001 Audi S8 with 200k+ miles that was previously owned by a local high-end performance shop (IMOLA Motosport in Plymouth, MN) and used as a shop runner and customer transport car. I purchased the car from the owner of the shop and he informed me that the car was retired from service due to electrical gremlins and had been used as a parts source for their other D2 S8 runner cars. I think they had two more in their fleet at the time.
I was told the transmission was rebuilt roughly 53k miles ago. I don’t have any service records to back that up but likely do still have the FB messenger conversation with the owner of the shop where he mentioned it. At one point, they contacted my wondering if I would be interesting in selling it back to them as an employee bought a D2 S8 and needed a trans. I probably should have sold it. Now it sits in my garage on a lower rack shelf taking up space. I probably won’t need it… at least until I sell it, because that is how it always goes, right? 😉
Will need to have fluid replaced as it was partially drained for transport. Fresh fluid and filter during install would be ideal.
Will need to pick up in Plymouth, MN. I don’t have a fork lift or anything so extra muscle and a low trailer will be your best bet. Questions? Drop me a line at ed****@****rs.org
